The Restored Church

And for this cause have I said: If this generation harden not their hearts, I will establish my church among them. Now I do not sat this to destroy my church, but I say this to build up my church. D&C 10:53-54

Doctrine and Covenants 10 is part of a revelation given almost two years before the formal organization of the restored church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints possesses the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and is the custodian of divine priesthood authority, and yet good and noble souls throughout the earth are acting under the quiet influence of God’s Holy Spirit. When Nephi stated that there were two churches only – the church of the Lamb of God and the church of the devil (1 Nephi 14:10) – he was not saying that there are only two types of people in the world, namely, the Latter-day Saints and all others. Rather, the divine word affirms that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was established on earth to shine additional light onto the nature of God and his plan of salvation for his children.
