Wherefore, all men must take upon them the name which is given of the Father, for in that name shall they be called at the last day. DOCTRINE & COVENANTS 18:24
There is a name above every other name, on earth or in heaven, save only the name of the Almighty Elohim. The name brings joy to the desolate heart and speaks peace to the sorrowing soul. The name falls in hushed and hallowed tones from the lips of Saints and angels and leads true believers on both sides of the veil to glory everlasting. It is the name of the One sent of God to bring salvation, the One who paid an infinite price to ransom us from Satan’s grasp. It is the blessed name of Jesus Christ. When we come unto Christ by covenant, we take upon us his holy name, promising to bear it with fidelity, dignity, and devotion. Like Adam and Eve, we are to “do all that thou doest in the name of the Son, and thou shalt repent and call upon God in the name of the Son forever more” (Moses 5:8). (Robert L. Millet and Lloyd D.
